You may see some people giving everyone they pass by a high 5, or see posts on your social media timeline about National high 5 day. It is as simple as it sounds, a holiday about giving high-fives.

National High Five Day was started in 2002 at the University of Virginia when a group of students sat on the main quad of the campus and gave out high-fives all day.

National high 5 day is a holiday to bring others together in a happy way.  The people at High-five Technologies who sponsored National High Five Day started a challenge and will donate $5 to CoachArt for everyone who participates, if you:

#1. Share their “virtual high-5” Facebook post or tweet National High Five Day
#2. Tag 5 friends to give them a virtual high-5
#3. Use the hashtag #VirtualHigh5Challenge

You can celebrate National High Five Day a step further by filming yourself giving people high-fives and then post it on social media using the hashtag #NH5D.
